A pickled batch of photos from the launch of The Red Shoes

Photos:  Aidan Murphy

There were pickles, and feet in red shoes; roses, and postcards hanging by fish wire; red ribbons and biscotti. And there were bodies. Oh so many bodies. Thank you to everyone who made it out to the launch of The Pickled Body and its inaugural issue The Red Shoes. It was a beautiful evening, full of the sensual and surreal.  To the readers on the night – Philip Casey, Kate O’Shea, John Ennis, Maurice Devitt, Ruairi Conneely, Shane Holohan, and Billy Ramsell – much love for giving us such gorgeous recitations and performances of your work. To our featured artist and singer on the night, Ria Czerniak – beautiful prints and a beautiful voice, from the red shoes up. To everyone who came and celebrated with us – thank you.  And to The Back Loft for being so lovely – such a gorgeous space to be sensual and surreal in.

Such a gorgeous night – in the sing song beauty of Kate Bush: we danced the dream, with our bodies on.
